David O Jacobson with a bear
David O Jacobson with a bear
It looks like this photo was in Vernal, UT or possibly Roosevelt. It could have been photographed in Duschene. He is wearing bib overall Levi's with a Levi's jacket. He always wore a tall hat. On his left hip (right side looking at the photo) he has what looks like a revolver (he owned a colt revolver, the same caliber as his rifle-possibly a 44-70) Below the revolver is another container, not sure what it was for.

Domkirken Cathedral in Bergen, Norway
Domkirken Cathedral in Bergen, Norway
Ole and his siblings were all baptized into the state Norwegian religion in this church, or cathedral. Most of the marriages were probably conducted there, also. Bergen Cathedral (Norwegian: Bergen Domkirke) is the seat of the Diocese of Bjørgvin. Located in the city center of Bergen, Norway, the first recorded reference to it is dated 1181.
During the reign of king Haakon IV of Norway, a Franciscan friary was established near the church, then known as Olavskirken, or the church of Saint Olaf, which was incorporated in it. The church burned down in 1248 and again in 1270, but was reconstructed after both fires. In 1463, it burned down again, but this time it was not reconstructed until the 1550s, despite being declared a cathedral in 1537.

After the fires of 1623 and 1640, Bergen Cathedral received its current general appearance. The steeple on the nave was torn down, and the current tower was built. During the renovation in the 1880s by architect Christian Christie, the Rococo interior was replaced to give the interiors back their former medieval appearance. A cannonball from the 1665 Battle of Vågen between the English and Dutch fleets remains embedded in the cathedral's exterior wall.

Home of Augusta Dorius Stevens
Home of Augusta Dorius Stevens
This is the home of Augusta Dorius Stevens. It is where she lived at the end of her life and is listed as her address on her death certificate. 318 Stanton St. Salt Lake City, Utah. The street is short, the home appears to be vacant currently. It is close to temple square and in an area with few homes any more. It appears that many homes that were near this one have been torn down. It may not be far behind.
